In the project I led, stakeholder management was one of the most important elements of the project. Fortunately, the success of that project was highly desired by many of the people in the company. However, since not all of them had the same enthusiasm, we took the following approaches.

1. Hold weekly meetings with team members and requested communication with stakeholders who have close relationships with each member of the team.
2. Hold regular meetings with the sponsors to share progress and issues. Asked for support if we have any problems.
3. Reported progress at the Management Committee on a regular basis. Key stakeholders were invited to participate in those meetings.

Of these efforts, the third approach was the most effective. I think this had the effect that the entire company, including top managements, recognized that the project had their attention. Although there may have been an aspect of pressure, I think it was motivating for many stakeholders to know that this was an important project. We also obtained permission for additional expenses through the management committee, which created a good cycle. In addition, for example, we received requests and comments from some stakeholders to improve the quality of the project contents.

This is a case where the stakeholders were very cooperative, however, it would be useful in other cases as well.
