Personal Reflection

My personality, people skills, and authenticity are a few reasons why people would choose to follow me as their leader. I strongly believe that I offer natural skills that are hard to duplicate even if you read about them in a book. It comes down to making people feel welcome and by being charismatic and charming. These actions evoke feelings in people that portray trust and many times offer people a sense of belonging. I am also able to understand the situations and scenarios and are able to adapt in order to build strong relationship. Being a leader means being decisive and standing for something that I firmly believe in. I constant portray this ability even in times of uncertainty and am able to make strong firm decisions that instill confidence in my followers.

Impact

In order to persuade people to follow my vision, it requires establishing a connection or vision that they are able to relate too. The vision must be something that inspires them and that resonates with their values, that way they are willing to follow my outlined vision. The best way to accomplish this is leading by example. The leader is a person that is admired by the group and that people look up too. When you practice what you preach it shows that you are not simply saying something and not following through, it speaks volumes that you are committed by the actions. When the leader embraces the mission and vision and they strongly believe in its value, this resonates with individuals and they want to be apart of the current or future success. Overall, a vision, leading by example, and strong communication will motivate individuals to persue my outlined vision.

Feedback

When asking a fellow co-worker who I trust and can be objective, "What is my greatest asset as a leader?" His response was that I am able to go with the flow. When there is a set schedule and things change, I don't get worked up about it and that I am able to make the best out of the situation. I did not expect that as a response to the question but I agree with it. I think too many times people get bogged down in the details and forget the larger picture of what is attempting to be accomplished. His response shows that I am able to adapt to changing circumstances which is a great skill to have as a leader. Effective leaders need to be able to make decision quickly and decisively and make adjustment to their strategies when the situation requires it.
