High pass filter or any other technique can be used to identify event duration. 4) Apply rule base technique or create various rules based on feature values in step 2. 5) Create a flow chart about how your system will works. 6) Develop a Matlab program (according to your flow chart) to detect the disturbances 7) The output should be the type of event /variations, its durations for any given PQ waveform.
