CRITERION FOR SPEECHES

Eye Contact Does the speaker appear to be looking at his/her audience or reading from the note cards too much?

Topic Information Does the speaker appear to be a credible speaker who knows what his/her speech is about by being informative and providing supporting information and in depth quotes, or are they just saying random thoughts?

Quotes Are quotes clearly identified by saying the authors full name, name of article, date, and indication of where quote begins and ends?

Voice Is the speakers voice filled with enthusiasm and energy or is it monotone and boring? Appearance Is the speaker dressed appropriately or looks disheveled?

Visual Aids Visual aids are used to support what a speaker is talking about. It should not be used as a note card, nor should it be shown if the speaker is not speaking about anything in relation to it. Therefore, are the visual aids in sync with what the speaker has to say?
