One of the sessions we have to sit down with the surveyors is a Leadership session. In years past, it was a "let us tell you all about our hospital and how great we are session.". This survey they requirements changed and joint commission picked the topics they wanted our leadership team to discuss. The topics they picked were centered on Community and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. We had our director of D.E.I., executive director of community impact, chairperson of our board, president of our hospital, and VP of quality all present, plus many other leaders. These five leaders spoke to our score card, community initiatives, and workplace culture. Two big areas discussed were community initiatives on decreasing infant mortality and maternal mortality postpartum and increasing diversity in leadership roles throughout our system. As I listened to these individuals speak, I was so inspired and felt such an emotion of thankfulness that I get to be part of this company
