Write a response to think we've all had a manager or department head making big decisions on their own without any consults, but in my opinion it just leaves confusion and questions for the vast majority. I've worked as a banquet manager for 6 years and it required thinking on the fly. While it didn't require hearing the employees out about their ideas, it made everything run extremely smooth. Banquet service is truly a group effort, from the front of house to the back, and without them nothing would run. I've worked under managers whose word was the law and saw that when decisions are made without running it by the workers for advice in various situations, it never ends well. Confusion is the last thing you want with your employees while there trying to complete a task. So with this I've always appreciated consulting all employees while really valuing and appreciating the ideas of the employees who've dealt with the more complex events before. Their opinions are truly invaluable. If you really think about it, what's the harm in asking? It builds trust, respect, and only can build to the overall work dynamic
