Write a response to this discussion post entry:
Under this new education reimbursement plan, all employees that work an average of 30 hours or more will eligible to receive these benefits. In order for an employee to be eligible to receive this benefit they must have been working for an average of 30 hours a week for the last year. After that first year they will receive these benefits.
Employees will be allowed to seek a degree in any discipline as long as they can come up with several ways that the degree could help them preform better in there current job or help them be able to move into another position in the company. Our company will try to stay at or under the $5,250 cap that the IRS allows for tax write-offs. In order for an employee to keep the full benefits they must have an average of an A. If they drop down to a B they will receive 90% of tuition benefit, and if they drop to a C they will get 50%. Any lower than that they won't receive any reimbursement.
If an employee's grade average drops below a C they will have one semester to improve before they will loose reimbursement. This way one bad grade in a class won't make an impact as long as they improve. This company will require an employee to stay with the current company for at least 6 months after obtaining the degree other wise they will be required to pay back 50% of the reimbursement.
