Hello, class and professor!

Here is my mission statement and two goals of my substance abuse prevention program!

Mission statement: Our program is dedicated to serving all adolescents from diverse populations, embracing differences including language, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. With a team that reflects the communities we serve, we are committed to working alongside clients to support, educate, and promote abstinence through our prevention program. We recognize the importance of self-efficacy and work collaboratively with each client to overcome the complexities of entering a prevention program. Our program adopts evidence-based prevention strategies for success and building resilience with practices that relate to real-world situations. Our mission is to equip you with support and tools to prevent use and create a positive environment for everyone who steps through our door. We welcome you!

The goals of the substance abuse prevention program:

Goal 1: We will work to support and promote healthy behaviors through a holistic approach that includes workshops, structured activities, counseling, academic support, peer support, and family engagement tailored to your needs while honoring culturally diverse and ethnic backgrounds. As well as actively making you the center of the process throughout the program.

Goal 2: We will provide our clients with protective factors, such as safety, by creating a safe and inclusive environment for diverse cultures and backgrounds, respecting their values, faith, religion, etc.. We also recognize the importance of mental health and work toward addressing challenges related to substance abuse and mental health challenges while being sensitive towards individuals' religion and spiritual beliefs.
