The simulation considers a typical operating day in June where the load on the GNP is not so high. This scenario is designed to demonstrate an outage on the GNP, with TL 259 being out of service due to a tree fell in the line. This opened the breaker L39T2 and B1L59 ahd resulting in an unplanned power outage to 7872 customers. The breaker B1L59 at BHL was closed by ECC control room operator action (the ECC), but the line tripped again. The protection at BHL operated as designed and disconnected TL239 in time to prevent damage to equipment. The operator must make decisions on how best to the restore the GNP. Some of the things they must consider are the number of diesels required, number of reactors and the loading on transformers and transmission lines.
