Currently, your employees are divided between a 10-person administrative /customer service staff and 45 floor employees who design, manufacture, test, and ship your products. Clearly, this poor result was caused by factors outside of Strymon Machines' control. It is now February 2022, and you must conduct performance reviews of all your employees. In years past, you have met with each of your staff individually in your office for their annual review, but you have been working from home because of private health issues that put you in a high-risk category. This is the first of two reasons why you will not conduct face-to-face interviews this year. The other reasons has to do with moralesince your team has done a good job overall to overcome the challenges of the past two years, and you're all a tight-knit group, you see no need to make the review process too cumbersome, stressful, and uncertain since so many of your team had to overcome the adverse scenario caused by COVID. Instead, your 45 floor employees will be asked by you to write their own evaluations for calendar year 2021. The evaluation should contain the following trio of elements. First, a brief narrative should be written that summarizes what was accomplished by the employee to help the company weather the storm of the past year. Next, a list of efforts to improve the employee's technical knowledge should also be provided. Each activity should be listed, and only those improvement activities that were relevant to the employee's day-to-day tasks should be included in the evaluation document.
