Much of the "Status" module is devoted to examining online fame and reputation. Find an example of an individual likeThe Star Wars Kidwho gained fame through social media. Yes, I know this is an old example. It is meant to be. Check the discussion board and use an original example for the best results.

For the reflection:

1. Find an example of an individual who gained fame through social media. Try for unique examples. Do not copy others' examples or focus on someone like Justin Bieber. Challenge yourself to do more and better. These examples will not get good marks. DO NOTinclude where the person is born and such. What we want is why and how he/she/they became famous.
2. Start your discussion with an introduction and end with a conclusion. There are marks for this.
3. Writeoneparagraph outlining the specifics/background of the individual and his/her rise to fame, as well as the consequences of the fame.
4. Write a second paragraph (use paragraph structure) that discusses ways in which the virtual world and the concept of online "democratization" contributed to this person's fame.

Make sure to cover these three aspects in your discussion of democratization:

1. How would this incident have played out differently in the "real world" if social media did not exist?
2. Were the consequences of this fame worth it for the individual?
3. Would you like to be made famous via social media? Why or why not?
