Reflection Paper Module # 4
My best training experience in Behavioral Analysis was when during my supervision training, my supervisor makes a group activity about Functional Behavioral Assessments. The modeling, role-playing, and feedback components of behavioral skills training (BST) were included into this program. The interactive aspect of the group exercise was what I found enjoyable about this training. The design of this group activity made it possible to practice conducting functional behavioral assessments practically. The supervisor and another staff member acted as models for how an evaluation should be conducted correctly in order to first introduce the concept to us through modeling. Soon afterward, we had the chance to take part in role-playing exercises, which allowed us to practice the skills we had recently learned. Once every role-play was finished, the supervisor gave us helpful feedback on how we performed, which helped us improve and practice our strategies. We received feedback on our performance from our supervisor after practicing functional behavioral evaluations through role-playing scenarios. The staff members and supervisor were able to create a positive learning environment that encouraged everyone to participate in the group activity and grow because of their knowledge and willingness to help. In terms of evaluating the quality of the training, the supervisor collected measures to assess our learning and satisfaction. We were given a knowledge evaluation to complete at the beginning and the conclusion of the activity in order to determine how well we understood the subject that was being covered. Because of this, the supervisor was able to monitor our progress in learning and pinpoint any areas that could need further concentrated effort. Furthermore, at the end of the exercise, feedback forms were distributed to gather data regarding the effectiveness of the instruction, the way the supervisor delivered the information, and the group activity as a whole. To ensure that the training was meeting the needs and expectations of the trainees who took part, changes were made as needed using the feedback they provided. All things considered, the behavioral analysis group activity was a highly meaningful and memorable experience because it offered opportunities for critical thinking, practical application, and advancement along with reflection and growth opportunities. By taking part in a comprehensive and productive learning environment, I was able to advance my skills and understanding in the field of behavioral analysis. This was made possible by the supervisor and other staff members' attention to gathering measurements to evaluate the group activity's quality, as well as the incorporation of BST elements.
