Writing instructions is a challenging task that requires thorough knowledge of your audience and the information they need to perform a task. To write effective instructions, you need to be able to get feedback from your audience about what works in the drafted instructions and what is confusing.

Choose one of the tasks in Exercise 5 on pages 515-516 of the textbook and write a set of instructions. Make sure to include all the parts listed in the exercise (introduction, list of equipment and materials, numbered steps with necessary warnings, cautions, and notes; a troubleshooting guide; a conclusion). Also, make sure to include at least 2 visuals that follow the guidelines for effective visuals. If you use visuals from websites or other materials, make sure to credit them properly.
