Task

Students are required to show an understanding of Rooms Division & Operations Management by analyzing the size and scope of the room's division and its inter-relationship with other departments, the job descriptions and competencies required to fill positions, and the importance of the guest cycle in front office operations.

Outline

1. Write a brief introduction explaining what Rooms Division & Operations Management is.
2. Describe the sub-departments managed by Rooms Division and explain their interrelationship with each other as well as with other departments of the hotel (i.e. Sales & Marketing Department)
3. Describe at least six positions in the Rooms Division department and explain the competencies required for these positions.
4. Explain the importance of "the guest cycle" in front office operations.
