You are a project manager at Delphi Printers & Peripherals, a small electronics and computer peripheral manufacturer. Your primary objectives are deliver a competitive product on time and on budget.

You will explore the complexities of managing projects through experimentation by setting and changing project parameters, and observing the effects on project outcomes. By doing so, you will discover how scope, resources, and schedule, which are the three main levers of project management (below), together with team dynamics and project organization contribute to project success or failure. To be successful, you must meet the organizational targets for scope, time and cost, while maintain the morale of your team. Your Specific Objectives are as follows:

Target Scope: Level 3

You will retain parity with the competitor's new printer. You will receive 200 points for delivering a printer with the scope requested and up to 100 additional points for delivering a printer with a more sophisticated scope.

Target Schedule: Week 17

This schedule will allow you to ramp up manufacturing and marketing soon enough to quickly match the competitor's new product announcement with one of your own. You will receive 200 points for meeting your schedule goals and up to 100 additional points for completing ahead of schedule.

Target Cost: $40,700

This will support a cost structure that will permit profit margins at a level roughly equivalent to those of the current printer. You will receive 200 points for meeting your budget/resources goals and up to 100 additional points for completing under budget.

Team Morale: 85%

You may also receive up to 100 points for team process by maintaining a consistent morale of 8595%.
