You are to submit a Reflection Paper on the Role of Volunteer Work in Personal and Professional Development. This is due on Wednesday, April 14.

This will be 15% of your Final Grade.

Here are some guide questions to help you in your paper:

1. What role does the voluntary sector play in today's society?
2. What are the volunteer opportunities in your community?
   • Identify three (3) organizations.
   • Briefly describe each organization - when was it founded, how big are they, what is their cause, etc.
   • Describe the volunteer roles they are looking for.
3. Pick a volunteer role that you are interested in, based on the research you have done.
   • Why did you choose this?
   • How will it help you improve your career advancement?
   • How will it help you personally?
4. What are the challenges faced in getting and coordinating volunteers? How do you think can these challenges be addressed?

For Tomorrow, present in class an organization that you are interested in volunteering, and answer the following questions:

• Why did you pick that organization?
• What is their cause, and why do you believe in that?
• What volunteer opportunities are you looking at in that organization?
• Based on your skills, how can your volunteer work help that organization? What value can you bring to them?
