You have been assigned a team project. Lucy is a teammate. She is at the top of the class, but because she has gotten high scores on other assignments, her grade will not drop below a B no matter how bad this team project goes. So$,$ she is not engaging. She compliments the ideas you give, but she may only be doing that so that you do the work rather than her.

Mark is in the group. You and Mark worked together in two previous projects for other classes. Not only does Mark not do any work, but he simply lacks the skills to do basic tasks. It seems like Mark did not have a standard education because communicating through email, proofreading, or creating a slideshow are tasks that Mark has shown tremendous difficulty in completing. You have had to do most of Mark$$s tasks for him in those previous projects in order to meet the deadlines.

Sarah is on the team. She prefers to work alone but if given a task, she can do an adequate job. However, she is not very creative. She has difficulty if instructions are not specific. You need a good grade on the project. You see it as an opportunity to improve your class rank and see potential working with this client in the future if the project goes well. It would essentially be your

dream job.

The client is a nongovernmental organization that specializes in home water conservation, efficiency, rain harvesting, and greywater treatment. The client asks you to propose a new water conservation policy. The local river which used to reach the coast no longer makes it there. In fact, it no longer reaches your city. Consumers in the neighboring state have been overdrawing water for decades, and there is a small pond between your towns where the river used to flow, but it has been a fragile dry$-$bed ecosystem for tens of years. Your town pays to import almost half of its water, and a quarter of it is used by Big Agriculture and the local mining industry.

Lucy has previous experience working for the largest farm in town. Mark$$s family owns a mine. Sarah lives in the neighboring state upstream. Long$-$story short, various setbacks have made your team spin its wheels for two weeks. The assignment is due tomorrow. The team is expected to give a $15-20-$minute presentation and to hand the client a $4-5-$page paper. No one on the team has lifted a finger.
