You have been employed to be a supply chain process improvement consultant for a plastic manufacturing company. The company is looking to take its next steps in improving its production capabilities and subsequently its overall operations. Based on your conversations with the CEO your main job is to help with the deployment of new supply chain technologies to help them become more competitive in their industry. The CEO is looking to implement new technology and is seeking your guidance in making a strategic decision for the implementation of either an ERP system or MRP system.

Based on conversations we have had in the classroom provide the following:

(1) Justify why you would choose either of these technologies. Your response should provide detailed rational why you have chosen either ERP or MRP.

(2) Describe the various modules within the new technology that you think will be beneficial to the organization? Justify why you think these modules are really required by this company.

(3) What are the possible risks (technological, market and organizational) for any of the chosen technologies
