You have limited information about the team. Most have worked for the organisation for more than 3 years and you have had some interaction with them from your previous role. There is an Indigenous Worker, 2 staff have English as their second language and 1 who identifies as gay. You have worked in community services for 6 years. The last 3 years as Disability Team Leader within this organisation. You previously worked as the diversity officer for another organisation and you are younger than most of the team members in this new position. Collaborate with the team to develop a life skills program to meet the client needs by answering the following questions. Case study continued. After 3 weeks of working in the new role, you have experienced some resistance from a few key staff members. You have learnt that one case worker applied for your current position and have two other staff that they have external workplace friendships. There has been some general tension within the team which you have discussed with your manager. You would like to develop a fresh approach and a new start in developing this project. After discussions with management it is agreed to develop a communication plan and protocols. This will include establishing, promoting and reviewing workplace communication strategies.
