You will be completing an article review assignment for Unit 1 - Introduction to Current Issues in Strategic HRM.

You need to choose ANY TWO articles from this unit for the article review.

For the article review, you need to write up a separate report for the 2 chosen articles. The report should have the following framework:

Summary: State the objectives (goals or purpose) of the article. What is the article's topic area? Briefly summarize the important points (observations, conclusions, findings) and "take away messages in the article.

Critical Analysis: This is the most important part of the report. Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the argument(s) presented by the author(s) of the article and state your opinion about the soundness (logic) of the assertions and conclusions presented by the author(s). You have to critique the article by answering some of the following questions: Does the article explain something really clearly? Does it provide a new way to look at a problem? Does it bring together or "synthesize" several concepts (or frameworks, models, etc.) together in an insightful way that has not been done before? Does it provide new solutions? Does it identify new issues? Does it provide a comprehensive survey or review of a topic area? Does it provide new insights? Also, is it salient (relevant and current) to a particular managerial problem? Are the issues addressed introduced in a way that their relevance to practice is evident?

To the extent possible, try to relate the information in the article to your own personal work experience or the work experience of someone you know (i.e., a parent or friend). Use specific examples to illustrate your point(s). Finally, discuss how employees, HR professionals, managers or workers in general, could use information shared in the article.

You have to submit both article reports together in 1 document. The overall length of the article review (that includes both article reports) should be between 2 3 pages (single spaced).
