You will determine a topic that can be explored using predictictive analysis techniques. The topics include, but not limited to, business finance, marketing, sports analytics, entertainment amongst others.

First,I will decide about the research questions pertinent to the chosen topic and develop a predictive analytics model. For example, you can predict the stock returns, the sales of products, the gross revenue of movies, the salaries of athletes....You need to specify the motivation behind the topic and its relevance in practice.

Second, I will build a theoretical model for your prediction. This comprises indicating the dependent variable (the variable you are trying to predict) and the independent variables (the variable that will help you predict the dependent variable). A minimum of 4 independent variables are required.

Finally, you will indicate the anticipated relationships in your model. In other words, for each independent variable, do you expect it to have a positive, negative, quadratic, or a logarithmic relationship? You need to briefly specify the rationale behind each prediction.

In this phase, you will work on the data collection process. Based on your project, you will search for data sources to collect the variables. You must consult with the instructor about your data sources from where you will collect data needed for your prediction/forecasting model.

Phase 2 Deliverables

I need to provide an Excel Spreadsheet with the list of variables as headers and a minimum of 300 observations. As you collect the data, you need to keep in mind the consistency of your data and how "clean" and ready for analysis.

The final part of the project consists of running the models in Excel, summarize the finding, report them, and provide your recommendations.

Phase 3 Deliverables

The final project deliverables consist of a report and Excel Spread Sheet

First, one page executive summary of your project reiterating your study, highlight the findings and provide recommendations.

Second, you will provide detailed results and specify the major findings. This including an individual discussion of the variables findings: which variables have the most impact in predicting your dependent variable? You will also discuss the overall significance of the model: the adjusted R-squared and the level of variance explained.

Finally, you close the report by providing your recommendations and highlight the relevance of your findings. You will also discuss these findings and provide explanations of your results. Keep in mind that you play the role of a consultant and you have to sell your hard work and its usefulness to your client.

I need to submit an Excel Spreadsheet that contains all my calculations. Excel Spreadsheet to go over my calculations and provide suggestions for improvement, as needed.
