you will need to present one idea that you would like to work on. You will only have ONE MINUTE for the pitch and your goal is to sell the idea to your classmates. Time is very important, so, please, structure your pitch accordingly. Start with a hook, then briefly describe the idea and give a short explanation, why you think it will work well. Slides are not required for this assignment. Your ideas should be: - Creative that means the idea is unusual; - Innovative that means that there is no similar idea or your idea contains a strong modification of already existing business model; - Realistic that means that you should be able (if everything goes according to the plan) to implement your idea within the next three years; - Within a real budget meaning that you need to consider to keep your idea within the budget you will be able to raise. Imagine, that you only have $10,000 to start with (and be able to create a simple prototype). Do the research to make sure that the idea and business model doesn't exist already in a very similar way. You will also need to submit a short report based on your pitch. Both paper and pitch, should include: - A title of the idea and a short (one paragraph) description; - Bullet-point explanation of why, in your opinion, it is great and investors should pay attention to it. At least three bullet points; - In case there are similar products/services - make sure to mention them in your paper transcript and explain why exactly yours is different (one to two paragraphs); Your paper should have between 300 and 500 words (excluding title and references). Remember that this is just an addition to your pitch! Only MAIN elements described above should be mentioned here. The paper should complement your pitch (it is NOT a transcript of the pitch). This assignment will be assessed based on the following criteria:
1. Content of the presentation and your idea (Maximum 30 points): - How creative/innovative the idea is (In case there are similar products/services - make sure to mention them in your paper transcript and explain why exactly yours is different) - How realistic the idea is.
2. The quality of your pitch (max 20 points). Make sure you sound convincible and confident.
3. The quality of your paper transcript (Max 20 points), which includes: clear structure of the content, the format (apply APA rules, 12 pt, double space). Please, use at least three references in your paper.
4. Time Management (Max 15 points): how well do you follow the timeline of your pitch. Time matters! Make sure you fit in one minute. 5. Q&A session (Max 15 points): how well do you answer the questions after the pitch. This part also includes the question(s) that you ask your classmates.
