However, your CIO has asked your team to take on a different kind of project: implementing a COTS software package focused on supporting your firms accounts payable function. This is because your firms accounts payable requirements are similar to many other firms using this COTS system. As such, this COTS system has been implemented hundreds of times across many other organizations, and there is a well-understood pattern for configuring and testing that system.
