Your first assignment is to develop selected components of an exercise program for an organization or community, and present your concept as a concise elevator pitch to generate interest and buy-in from an executive or community leader. There are five parts to this activity. 1. Develop an exercise program goal Develop one (1) goal for your organizations or communitys exercise program. 2. Plan your exercise program Identify five (5) exercises that you plan to include in your exercise program. For the purposes of this assignment, at least one of the exercises must be a tabletop exercise and one must be a functional exercise (you will be developing these exercises in later assignments). Once youve identified the exercises, plot them on an exercise program timeline. 3. Explain your rationale Explain your reasons for including the exercises you have identified in your exercise program. 4. Identify exercise program plan components Identify which of the following components you plan to include in your exercise program plan and explain your reason(s) for including or excluding the component: a. Budget b.Exercise program timeline c. Resource plan d.Training plan e. Communications plan f. Documentation plan g. Corrective action plan 5. Present an elevator pitch for your exercise program Deliver a 1-2 minute oral presentation (no slides/presentation material) promoting your exercise program. You should include some aspects of the program, but this presentation should not simply explain Parts 1-4. Provide an overview of the intended goal, importance, and benefits of your specific program. Avoid presenting a summary of your plan or a generic presentation about the benefits of exercises in general. This presentation should be similar to what you might say to an executive or community leader at an unplanned or impromptu meeting.
