Background to the project In groups of 5, students are expected to knowledge acquired from the Pharmacy Management and Marketing course to identify a managerial problem that is affecting the sales of a community pharmacy, and propose possible solutions to the problem/s and suitable methods of implementation. This approach is meant to assist students to practically apply the knowledge acquired to address real world problems that may be encountered in their future pharmaceutical careers. Requirements Each group is required to submit a report that includes the following: General information about the community pharmacy they chose (excluding its name): V The number of years the pharmacy has been operating The city/town where the pharmacy operates The number of staff members working at the pharmacy and their responsibilities VA brief description of the pharmacy's size, layout, design, inventory, merchandizing strategies and assets Identifying the primary managerial problem that is could be affecting the sales Investigating the negative consequences of this problem on the pharmacy Recognizing all available resources at the pharmacy that would help in solving the problem Exploring possible solutions to the problem Developing feasible strategies of implementing the solutions Demonstrating knowledge in financial management (keeping the records) Demonstrating knowledge in marketing and sales of products at the pharmacy Identifying the necessary characteristics that the staff and pharmacist need to have/learn to optimize their skills, capabilities, efficiency, time-management and leadership Recognizing any need-based training for staff members to match their level of responsibility at the pharmacy Identifying the role of technology in optimizing efficiency, work flow control and error minimization Identifying the means that need to be applied to monitor the operational progress after implementing the best fit solution/
