Your Task. Write an interoffice memorandum to your staff announcing their return to the office.

Brainstorm arguments for a hybrid schedule, that is$,$ working from home at least part of the time, perhaps

a day or two a week. Anticipate workers' needs and desires. Consider what options you could reasonably

offer your employees to lessen the pain of the bad news and induce workers to come back to the office.

After you have some unique ideas, you can conduct a brief internet search for ideas that other companies

have used.

Recall the $3$x$3$ writing process: Prewrite$/$Write$/$Revise$.$ Do not include trite phrases and apply the writing

techniques from chapters $4,5,$ and $6.$

Use the indirect Bad News Technique thoroughly covered in chapter $9.$ Make sure reasons are clear to the

reader $($explain "policies"$)$ BEFORE delivering the bad news. Avoid continuous apologies and don't end

with a trite statement $($if the ending came easy to you, it's likely trite$).$
