Scenario: We’ll continue to examine the World Development Indicators data in BirthRate 2005. Throughout the exercise, we’ll use BirthRate as the Y variable.
We’ll broaden our analysis to work with other variables in that file:
MortUnder5: deaths, children under 5 years per 1,000 live births
MortInfant: deaths, infants per 1,000 live births MortMaternal: number of maternal deaths in childbirth per 100,000 live births
a. Initially estimate a model using all three of the above-listed variables.
Evaluate your model and report on your findings.
b. Drop the weakest of the three variables from the model and re-estimate using a reduced model with two independent variables. Report on your findings, comparing these results to those for the prior model.
