Several decades ago a large proportion of Americans smoked cigarettes. However, in recent years many adults have quit. To measure the extent of current smoking a random sample of American adults was asked to report whether they smoked (1 = yes, 2 = no). There are 244,137,873 American adults. Estimate with 95% confidence the number of American adults who smoke cigarettes.
