The American public’s support for the space program is important for the program’s continuation and for the financial health of the aerospace industry. In a poll conducted by the Gallup organization last year, a random sample of 100 Americans was asked, “Should the amount of money being spent on the space program be increased or kept at current levels (3), decreased (2), or ended altogether (1)?” The survey was conducted again this year. The results were recorded using the codes in parentheses. Can we conclude that public support decreased between this year and last year?
