College basketball in the United States is big business with television contracts in the billions of dollars and coaches' salaries in the millions of dollars. The file Coaches Pay contains the total coaches pay for a recent year and whether the school was a member of a major conference (Atlantic Coast, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12, or SEC).

For each of the two groups (major conference member and not a major conference member):

a. Calculate the mean, median, first quartile, and third quartile.

b. Calculate the range, interquartile range, variance, standard deviation, and coefficient of variation.

c. Interpret the measures of central tendency and variation within the context of this problem.

d. Construct a boxplot. Are the data skewed? If so, how?

e. What conclusions can you reach about the differences in coaches pay between colleges that are members of a major conference and those that are not?
