1. Your work team is responsible for interviewing candidates for openings in the group and making hiring recommendations. For a current opening, you have interviewed several qualified people and decided which is the best. However, the candidate is quite young, and most of the members of your work group are in their 50s. Although they are impressed with the candidate’s skills, you sense that they are reluctant to change the composition of the team so drastically. You are concerned that the workflow should continue without disruption and that the team spirit you have developed should remain high.

Assume the candidate is hired. Break into groups and brainstorm strategies for bringing the new person onto the team in such a way that the existing team members are accepting and welcoming.
