Martin is project leader of a new distribution system project for the Wall-Stone Company. Today, Martin is preparing for a meeting with the key end users who have been involved in the development project so far. Overall, Martin has been very pleased with the contributions made by these end users during the Analysis phase. The team performed one JAD session involving a number of stakeholders that went very well. Other information has been gained through observation, document analysis, and interviews. Although the end users have not had any experience with this type of systems development work before, they have been open to learning about the analysis tasks that were used, and have been forthcoming with good ideas and suggestions for the new system.

At the end of last week, the new system concept was presented to the approval committee in a walkthrough session. Reaction was favorable all around, and the team was authorized to proceed with design work. Now, Martin wants to explain to the end users exactly what the team will be doing during this next project phase. In particular, the end users had become quite adept at interpreting the logical process and data models that had been developed in the analysis phase. Now, Martin wants to prepare them for the transition of those models to physical process and data models.
