Got this on a discount for my course MATH 3200: Advanced Vector Calculus and it showed up super fast which was awesome. Haven't gotten a chance to really dig into the sections yet but from what I flipped through it seems to be pretty decent quality, pages look nice and clean. The cover's a bit plain but nothing crazy. Honestly needed it mainly for reference so it fits the bill for now. Hoping the later chapters will be helpful but so far it’s just whatever. Overall glad I didn’t pay full price since there’s probably better texts out there but it works okay for now.

Was on the hunt for something that wouldn’t make vector calculus totally over my head since my class demanded a decent text. Stumbled onto this book discounted, and figured scores don’t lie — so I grabbed it. My main headache was trying to wrap my head around line integrals until I hit Chapter 5, which covers Vector Fields and Line Integrals in a way that wasn’t *too* scary for my tired brain. Going through that chapter kinda turned things around for me, probably because it included examples that clicked with how to actually picture what those integrals meant geometrically (oh and the descriptions gave me some small ‘aha’ moments when dealing with circulation and flux). I ended up realizing these all sort of tie beautifully into physics problems I'm working on now — makes me feel like the book’s paying off with practical stuff and not just theory. As for the book itself, it’s decent — pages are clear no doubt, and while some figures could've been more detailed, the explanations do a good job breaking down tough concepts without throwing too many dense formulas at once. Would I say it’s perfect? No — sometimes the jump between example setups can be abrupt but for this price it’s fine. Definitely still seeing myself dipping back into this book to make homework manageable and for quick references. I’d tell other students to check this out if they want something that feels more straightforward than stuff I used before.
