My journey as an online tutor began when I joined Chegg as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Anatomy and Physics. With my strong academic background in medical laboratory sciences and years of practical experience, I found it deeply fulfilling to guide students through complex topics. On Chegg, I was responsible for answering textbook-style questions as well as live student queries. Each answer required detailed step-by-step explanations, proper use of diagrams (especially for anatomy), and clarity in concepts.

Through Chegg, I learned how to make even the most difficult topics understandable for students. For example, in anatomy, students often struggled with the physiology of organs, muscle functions, or the nervous system. I would simplify these using labeled diagrams, analogies, and real-life examples to help them connect theory with logic. Similarly, in physics, I helped students understand topics such as force, motion, energy, and basic electromagnetism, breaking complex formulas into easy-to-understand steps.

Chegg trained me to focus on clarity, accuracy, originality, and plagiarism-free content. I maintained a high acceptance rate and received consistently positive feedback from students. I also improved my technical writing, time management, and research abilities while working on tight deadlines and high question volumes.

Later, I expanded my tutoring reach by joining Kunduz, where I worked as a Biology Subject Expert. Unlike Chegg, where answers were long-form and detailed, Kunduz focused on fast-paced, concise solutions provided in real-time. The platform required me to answer students' doubts submitted via mobile apps – mostly related to Biology at the high school and undergraduate levels.

Working on Kunduz was challenging but exciting. Students would submit photos of handwritten questions or MCQs related to topics like cell biology, genetics, human systems, plant physiology, ecology, etc. My role was to quickly understand the doubt, interpret the question correctly, and provide a short yet clear explanation within 15 minutes. Speed, correctness, and clarity were key.

Through Kunduz, I sharpened my real-time problem-solving abilities and developed a deeper understanding of how students think when they're confused. I would often rephrase the question in simpler terms and guide the student through it step by step, using simple keywords and analogies. Many students left comments thanking me for clear and helpful responses, which boosted my confidence as a tutor.

Together, my work on Chegg and Kunduz helped me develop a balanced tutoring approach:

Chegg taught me depth and structure.

Kunduz taught me speed and clarity.


These platforms not only improved my subject knowledge but also strengthened my patience, empathy, and ability to adapt my explanation style depending on student needs. Whether it was a detailed anatomy explanation with diagrams or a quick biology doubt clarification, I always maintained professionalism, positivity, and a student-friendly tone.

Working on both platforms also gave me exposure to a wide range of academic curricula – from Indian boards to international university syllabi. I interacted with students from the US, UK, India, and the Middle East, which enhanced my cultural awareness and global academic understanding.

Above all, I realized how powerful knowledge-sharing can be. Many students came back with follow-up questions or messages like, “Thanks, now I finally understand this!” – and that is the most rewarding part of tutoring.
