I am passionate and progressive about learning and teaching. I love to research and incorporate methods or concepts that can improve the learning of students such as gamification, mind mapping and creating algorithms. I always make sure that they can articulate the concepts, perform tasks and develop tools for their own learning. Patience is always at the core of my tutoring. I enjoy entertaining students' questions and criticisms and use these to better my teaching. I make an effort to help students to stand on their own, have confidence and have fun learning.
Assigned to teach general engineering and core petroleum engineering subjects: Solid Mensuration, Physics, Engineering Mechanics - Statics, Fluid Mechanics, Reservoir Engineering and Petroleum Production Engineering.
• Developed problem-solving algorithms for each of the general engineering courses. The algorithms served as a step by step procedure that the students can follow to help them during problem-solving in examinations.
• Designed a project for the Reservoir Engineering Course - a worksheet software that automatically determines the petroleum fluid properties using PVT correlation equations - that aimed to develop the software development and research skills of the students.
• Incorporated Virtual Laboratory Experiments that simulated petroleum thermodynamic processes in the Petroleum Thermodynamic Course to help the students visualize and understand the PVT behaviors of different petroleum fluids.
• Designed a Petroleum Thermodynamic Project: a worksheet software that predicts the vapor-liquid equilibria properties in separators. This project involved the incorporation of C Programming or Excel VBA to automate the processes and aimed to help the students apply petroleum thermodynamic concepts and basic programming for optimization.
• Developed a Casing Design Software that incorporated Optimization Algorithms to facilitate learning in casing design.
