Two drugs, zidovudine and didanosine, were tested for their effectiveness in preventing progression of HIV disease in children. In a double-blind clinical trial, 276 children with HIV were given zidovudine, 281 were given didanosine, and 274 were given zidovudine plus didanosine. The following table shows the survival data for the three groups. Use these data to conduct a test of the null hypothesis that survival and treatment are independent. Let α = 0.10.
