Identify the main players in the industry / average market shares / geographic span etc. In general, you are describing the structure, or how things are, in the industry you are researching. Try to tilt towards analytical vs. simply descriptive narrative (it may be a bit of challenge here, but that's the intention). Essentially, being "analytical" means you process and intellectually filter the vast information on the industry and summarize all that in this first write-up without risking to lose any generality or omitting any key aspects characterizing the industry.
