Assume that your supervisor or program director has asked you to develop an evaluation plan for the program. This could be a training program, an educational program, a workshop, a series of courses at your workplace, educational intuition, nonprofit organization, or other environment with which you are familiar. The target program should be one for which you have enough information to complete the assignments for this course. If you do not have one you have experienced, consider contacting someone who is in an environment that provides educational programs for adult learners and use that program for the project. Follow the Strayed guidelines listed below before conduct interviews.
1. Create a matrix like the one displayed with appropriate headings: (1) Stakeholder Information Needed (2) Evaluation Outcome; and (3) Confirmative Evaluation Question.
2. List under Heading 1 (Stakeholder Information Needed) at least four stakeholders' titles or positions that you believe should be involved in your evaluation project, stating the needs of each stakeholder.
3. State and classify each need under Heading 2 (Evaluation Outcome) by noting if the outcome should be evaluated based on effectiveness, efficiency, impact, or value.
4. Develop an appropriate confirmative evaluation question under Heading 3 (Confirmative Evaluation Question) for the evaluation outcome.
Take in to account the following critical factors in order to develop an evaluation plan:
Analyze adult learners and key variables that influence learning in workplace and educational environments.
Examine the costs and benefits of assessment programs.
Analyze models used for assessment.
Assess methods and tools used in assessment of adult learners.
Develop an assessment tool, with at least one authentic assessment technique, for adult learners.
Develop a plan for a program's confirmative evaluation.
Use technology and information resources to research issues in assessment of adult learners.
Write clearly and concisely about the assessment of adult learners using proper writing mechanics.
