Barbara Reynolds and Jason Stephens were at will truck drivers for Ozark Motor Lines. They were fired when they refused to begin a trip from Memphis to Chicago without having adequate time to inspect the truck as required by safety provisions of the Tennessee Motor Carriers Act.
