Question:

It is clear that better training and socialization may be the key to reducing deviant behavior among police officers. Policy changes are necessary to address those officers who border line or who have already become tainted by corruption.
February 2001, three South Florida police officers were indicted for drug trafficking, including using their marked patrol cars to transport drugs for dealers.
July 1999 in a small town of Tulia Texas 43 residents were arrested in a drug raid. The only evidence against them was the testimony of one undercover officer, it was later discovered that the undercover officer had quit his last law enforcement job and fled town to avoid theft charges in his previous law enforcement job.
In my opinion I think that as a whole all law enforcement officers are, professional, law-abiding officers. But there is always one bad apple in the bunch. And good officers don't want to work or be associated with a "bad officer."
