Question:

Peter, age 16, and Janet, age 25, agreed as follows. Peter, who was very religious, would pray to his favorite saint for guidance in selecting winning lottery numbers. He would give these numbers to Janet who would buy a ticket. Peter could not buy a ticket because he was under 18. If the ticket won, Janet would share the winnings with Peter. As luck would have it, the ticket won. Janet refused to share the winnings, claiming that the agreement was illegal because lottery tickets could not be sold to minors. She also claimed that Peter could not prove that his prayers resulted in the selection of the winning numbers and therefore he could not show he provided any consideration. Peter sued. How would you decide this?
