In July 2009, BAC Home Loans Servicing sent the Nowlins a letter stating their loan modification had been approved. The letter also contained instructions to validate and make permanent the loan modification. All in all, the Nowlins had to sign, notarize, and mail two documents back to BAC and successfully pay the next three months of mortgage payments
