Solve the preceding problem using transverse load V = 300 N and torque T = 3.5 Nm applied at point B. The bar has length L = 1.5 m and diameter d = 8 mm. Calculate the principal stresses and the maximum shear stress for element 2 located at the side of the bar at fixed end A (see figure). Assume that element 2 is a sufficient distance from support A so that stress concentration effects are negligible.
