Focuses on the individual, so students should be encouraged to answer the questions privately if your purpose in using this is for self-understanding. In general, the more responses recorded in the "mostly true" column, the more political one can be said to be. 

Another, equally sound use for this exercise, is to go through the instrument as a class. In small groups, or with the class as a whole, have the students go through the items one at a time and briefly give their reasons for answering mostly true or mostly false. The exercise can accomplish two things: first, it provides a context for talking about differing perceptions and interpretations different individuals give to the same behavior. It will affirm the point that to understand how someone else views a behavior we must ask and listen. A second value of using the exercise in a group is that it gives concrete examples of behaviors that organizational theorists would describe as "game playing" or political behaviors.
