Lab Report
Everyone is responsible for completing their own, individual lab report. You can collaborate with others to work through the data analysis and discuss your findings, In the end however be sure that you must write your own report, and perform all of the underlying analysis yourself.
Prepare a written lab report, with the following sections:
Executive Summary (Abstract)- Briefly summarize what was done and what you found out. Imagine this would be for an upper-level manager, who never took ME352 or its equivalent, who would read this just to get the essence of what was done and what was found out.
Introduction - Provide a short introduction providing background of the subject of the study. State the problem and aims/objectives of the experiments (there will probably be some overlap between this and your Executive Summary.
Methods - Provide a description of the testing that was performed and the analysis that was done. This can be high level, just give enough explanation so that a reader who is familiar with the general subject matter would have some idea what you did. You can give a reference in your report to ME352 Lab01 Data Analysis.pdf for the details of the data analysis.
Results - Provide the results (plots and tables) of the analysis you performed (Analysis Steps 4a-h) above. Be sure plots are fully labeled so the reader can understand what is plotted.
Discussion - Provide a discussion of what you found, in particular note behavior that was as expected, and behavior that wasn't as expected. For unexpected behavior, offer possibilities for any disagreement. Provide any suggested test or measurements (if any) that could be performed that would help to get a better understanding of the observed results, particularly anything that was unexpected or ambiguous.
Summary and Conclusions - Make a concise summary / conclusion of the study (one paragraph)
