Task 2

Project Scenario:

You have been employed as the new Development Manager at ANIBT Cosmetics Sydney branch. You have received notice from head-office that a new line of hair care products will be added.

These products will be designed for hot, dry weather conditions and need to appeal to the Australian market.

Your team needs to come up with new fresh ideas for adding this new haircare product range and you will lead this project. Until you arrived the team was not very active with regards to innovation, they tended to just sit back and take directions from Head Office in the States. You have been asked to change this behaviour and to implement innovative thinking and practices at the Sydney branch.

TASK ONE:

To complete task one, you need to complete the following tasks:

a) Generating creative and critical thinking concepts that provide innovative solutions to identified issues by:

Identifying the root cause Evaluating and exploring needs and opportunities

Developing a range of creative approaches Refining concepts Considering the implications to others Developing concepts to an operational level.

b) Identify and evaluate concepts and ideas

c) Implementing informal learning opportunities as part of the problem-solving process

d) Developing at least two concepts, substantiated, and supported with sufficient information to

allow the implementation to occur that must be submitted as a fully developed proposal and a

draft plan for implementation

e) Following the process, hold a debrief with peers. Discuss what was effective and what was

ineffective to help structure the process for when it is next required.
