When you write in or out of college, you're in the business of constructing and sharing knowledge, finding out all you can about a subject, sometimes carrying out research of your own, and working with your sources and classmates or friends to share that knowiledge with others. But in spite of fairly wide variation, most experts on writing agree that several features mark successful academic writing.
