You must be able to demonstrate your understanding of retail management as it applies to the South African retail environment. The POE will enable you to engage with the theory presented in the module and apply your knowledge in a series of Parts. Each Part will access your understanding of the content covered in the learning units and require you to apply your knowledge to a specific retail situation. The POE requires you to apply theory to any chosen brand or product of your choice which is Proudly South African. You need to think carefully about the brand or product you will use to demonstrate your proficiency in retail management. Start early! Conduct some research into typical brand or product in South Africa, so that you have an informed vision and picture in your mind to use when applying the theory and through your development of the POE. In Part you will introduce and describe your brickandmortar retailer, and the context in which it will operate. You will demonstrate your understanding of shopper behaviour you expect your customers to demonstrate and layout your ideal location to operate from. In Part you will outline the layout and design of your store and explain how you will conduct online retailing. In the Final POE Part, you will demonstrate your understanding of pricing and merchandise management and analyse your stakeholders, risks, and customer service strategy. Instructions In this POE, you will develop a retail management strategy for a brand or product which of your choice You are required to apply the theory from the prescribed textbook and the activities in Learn to develop your strategy. You will need to conduct additional research and use multiple credible sources. The POE is broken into two Parts which are submitted at separate points in the semester, and thereafter the final POE. By the end of the POE, you will have a complete plan for your retailer. The plan will follow the same order as the learning units for the module, therefore you will need to work consistently throughout the semester
