2: E-commerce Platform for Small Businesses

Before addressing Your team, the Near shop a small business platform, targeted primarily at local e-merchants, had a desktop version with a limited number of online tools for shop owners. Following the customers request, they plan to develop a native application connected to the initial platform.

Expectations: The application allows to:

manage the inventory by adding or editing goods

determine the level of accessibility for people with limited mobility (PRM)

schedule and administer the program of activities

manage the blog

Now, the platforms functionality is fully supported on mobile devices making possible to manage the store on a smartphone or tablet. The application provides the possibility to edit:

shops description, address, and contacts

working hours schedule

industry and categories of goods

accessibility data

At the moment, the solution supports French, Dutch and English languages.

Challenges: The major challenge lied in the implementation of the synchronization feature when a shop administrator needs to commit changes made on the mobile application to the Near shop backend. The stability of operation is secured even in poor mobile Internet conditions such as weak signal/connection or unexpected data loss.

Expected Output;

The outcome of the project is a robust mobile solution with a modern and flexible architecture allowing us to manage an online business in a convenient way. Apart from its desktop version, the platform is now available on smartphones and tablets.
