$2.$ Julia has been assigned to lead a cross$-$functional project team that is struggling to meet

its goal of planning ABC Company's annual meeting. The team's previous leader left the

company and since then the team has struggled with in$-$fighting. All work has stalled and

the CEO is getting worried that the annual meeting will not be a success.

Julie meets with the team and begins to realize the team cannot agree on a theme for the

annual meeting. She observed that the two strongest personalities on the team were

talking over each other and advocating for their own ideas. Meanwhile, the three other

members on the team were checking email and IM$-$ing each other about how useless these

team meetings are. Julie asked to see the project charter and the team did not have one.

She asked when the next progress update was due to the CEO. Two people said "next

week" and one person said $"$in two days". Julie asked who is responsible for providing the

status update and everyone remained silent. Julie asked how the team communicates and

was told three people use Slack and the other two use Google chat, but sometimes people

email and they occasionally have an hour long meeting, like the one they are in now. Julie

asked where the working files are kept and realized some files were on the hard drive of the

previous team lead, some were on Sharepoint and some in a Google drive.
